“The Spiritual center of the
Sherpa Land"
The incredible monastery of “Tengbouche”- The
spiritual centre of the Sherpa land is a
photographer's paradise and the highlight of the
trek, set against the backdrop of Ama Dablam and
other huge snowcapped peaks. This short trek
introduces the traditional homeland of the
Sherpas, the renowned mountain people that moved
from the Tibetan plateau to settle in during the
15th Century. We follow the standard route of
the Everest expedition by first flying in to
Lukla. Then our destination is Namche Bazaar,
the headquarter of Khumbu region, where we shall
witness the simplicity and hospitality of the
Sherpa community which is heart warming. We then
move to Tengbouche where we can see the
awe-inspiring views of Mt. Everest, the tallest
of them all along with Lhotse, Nuptse, Tobouche,
Amadablam, Kasum Kangru, Thamserku and Kwangde
peaks. We will also visit Khunde and Khumjung,
where Sir Edmund Hillary established the first
hospital and school that are now supported by
the Himalayan Trust. |
