This tour is ideal for those devout pilgrims who
are short on time OR cannot undertake a grueling
17-day journey due to age or other physical
factors. In this tour, they will fly on FIXED
WING aircrafts operated by a private airline on
the KTM/Nepalgunj/Simikot sector. The chopper
meets the group at Simikot to drop us at Hilsa,
a small village nearest to Tibet border. The
immigration point at Chinese side at Sher – a
short distance from Hilsa. Due to regulations,
it is not permitted for the group to take the
chopper from Surkhet to Simikot. The Surkhet/Nepalgunj
flight is by a fixed wing charter plane and not
by helicopter. The landcruisers drive over a
week from Lhasa to meet the group at Sher and
drop them back to Sher. As you can see the
logistics have to be carefully planned and the
tours booked well in advance. |
